NW Arkansas surely keeps me on my toes with its weather! We had to set a "plan B", just in case the weather forecast was right and there was rain. Fortunately, we couldn't have asked for better weather for our photo session! It was the dreamiest of fall days. And everyone's chosen outfit fit in so well with each other, with the season and with the location Kelly chose. I'm always excited to shoot at new (to me) locations, so I was really happy to have been introduced to this hidden gem!
I had had the privilege to work with the Alexander family before, so it was very pleasant to see them again. I was mostly looking forward to photographing little Arden, just because children, especially young children, change so much within a few months.
I was prepared to get in as many photos of her as possible right from the beginning, because she's only three and I've learned a few things about working with kids. One of them is that children are very unpredictable, so you need to make sure to get the essential shots from the get go, because after that nothing is guaranteed. They might get hungry or tired and simply not be in the mood to follow instructions to be photographed. Not Arden. This girl was exceptional. I'm not exaggerating when I say that she acted like a professional. She stood wherever we told her, she placed her hands on the right spots and shared sweet moments with mommy. She walked on rocks to cross over little pools of water, she hugged and kissed everyone on command AND spontaneously. And she made the cutest faces. As if all of that hadn't been enough, she rocked her amazing curls! She's so young, that she doesn't even realize how incredible her hair is. It glowed beautifully in the sun and matched daddy's curls in a perfect way.
There's so much love in this family! It's not easy to get several people together and agree on a time and place to get portraits done, but they managed to come from Fayetteville, Bella Vista, and even Phoenix, Arizona to capture memories of fall 2020! Needless to say, it has been a strange year, but this family found the time to get together and enjoy a beautiful afternoon outside.
Alexander family, it was a pleasure to work with you and I encourage you to keep treasuring your beautiful family!
Seriously, I can’t stop appreciating your writing techniques, they are so effective.
Beautiful family and photos.
