A Wedding Day Filled With Love, Joy, and the Sweetest Little Escort

Every once in a while, I get to photograph a love story that stays with me long after I pack up my camera, and Kate and Robert’s wedding will always be one of those days.

I still remember their engagement session like it was yesterday. Robert had asked me to do a newborn session and he had a special request: Toward the end of the session, he was going to propose to Kate and I was to photograph it.

Their moment was so emotional and heartfelt that even behind the camera, I found myself getting teary-eyed. It was the kind of love you can feel in the air, gentle, genuine, and wonderfully deep. After that, I knew their wedding day would be something incredibly special.

We waited well over a year to finally celebrate, and so much changed in that time. When I photographed their engagement, baby Archer was only a few weeks old. Fast forward to the wedding day, and there he was: Walking confidently, holding Kate and Robert’s grandmothers’ hands and escorting them to their seats. More like they were guiding him, but you get the picture - I mean, he’s not even two! It was one of the sweetest, most memorable moments of the day.

Kate looked absolutely stunning, with her elegant features, gorgeous eyes, and warm, sweet smile - truly a natural beauty. And Robert looked so handsome and full of joy. Watching him look at Kate throughout the day was one of my favorite parts; every glance was filled with admiration and love. The Mildred B. Cooper Chapel was absolutely the perfect venue for them to say “I do” in a lovely ceremony officiated by Kate’s grandfather -  which goes to show the importance that this couple places on family.

What made their wedding even more meaningful was witnessing how deeply their families and friends love them. Guests traveled from other states just to be there and celebrate their special day. The warmth, the laughter, the happy tears, it all created a magical atmosphere that I feel grateful to have documented.

Before the dance floor officially opened for everyone, the groom and his mom shared one of the sweetest moments of the entire evening. Their mother-son dance was full of tenderness, gentle smiles, and a connection that ratidated through the whole room. You could feel how proud she was of the man he's become and how much he loves her in return. It was a meaningful pause before the celebratioon picked up, one of those moments that reminds you how weddings celebrate every kind of love, not just between the couple but within their families too.

One of the greatest honors was being invited as both their photographer and their guest. Sitting among their loved ones, celebrating this milestone with them, made the day even more special to me. I truly felt the connection, the joy, and the love surrounding them.

There was a sweet prayer by one of the bridesmaids and after that Kate’s brothers gave such genuine and personal speeches that the newlyweds were both holding back tears and trying to control laughter all in the span of a few minutes.

Kate’s dad had a few words for his sweet princess and he and Kate also surprised  everyone with a fun choreography that made the guests almost want to join on the dance floor.

Kate and Robert are the kind of couple that remind me why I love what I do. Their story is tender, beautiful, and full of intention. I can’t wait to see the life they continue to build together. And to watch their handsome son Archer grow up surrounded by so much love.

Cheers to this beautiful couple and the lifetime of happiness ahead of them!
